Writing news: BIG updates

Confession: I think the hardest part of this whole “writing a book” thing is the part where you have to read your story a million times once developmental and line edits are done.

I’ve also learned it’s a really good gauge on where the story stands as it nears the finish line.

If I still like it, something is wrong with it still.

If I want to use all of the drafts and book proofs as a starter for a massive bonfire? It’s good to go.

I’m currently one read away from hating my second book.

Which means, I’m on the right track.

WHICH ALSO MEANS: Thank goodness, because the release date is set for March 20.

Less than two months away.

That’s right. That’s the big update. Book two will be officially out on March 20.

Book Three news

I wrapped my first read through and edits on Book 3 of the ROC trilogy and started working on them to get that second draft ready for alphas – but then stopped.

Having experienced a years-long stretch of hating writing because I was burned out, I don’t want to risk it again. Especially now that I’m finally here, pursuing what Little Kid me has always wanted and always dreamed.

So, until the final files are all sent off for Unraveling, I’m not touching ROC3.

And while that’s actually going really well, the binder the red-penned first draft is in is still sitting on my shelf… My notes app is quickly filling with scene snippets of an entirely new book. Something that means, my 2025 resolution failed before it was even out of the gate.

I guess a writer setting a resolution to not write anything new for x-amount of months is just a silly idea and I should know better.

Cheers to a new year of good stories and lots of writing!
