Confession: I picked my title based on how it looked on the cover.
When I built the cover for Daughters, I also built the covers for the remaining books in the series to make sure they all flowed well together while also fitting what was happening on the pages.
So, while ROC2 lost it’s first title (as of right ROC3 still has the same title it started with, but I am toying with new ones), the cover remained.
In writing ROC2, several variations of the title came to me, and it all came down to how it looked on that cover.
In the end, ROC2 became *drum roll, please* The Unraveling of Covens.
It has been logged in the ISBN system and approved. A blurb has even been written – and any writer will tell you that THAT is the hardest part.
My first newsletter went out on Wednesday, revealing the title, and a blurb teaser (want in? Sign up here). There is also updates on a special book box for Daughters (no, no character art, because I know I’ll be asked again).
Unraveling is planned for mid-April 2025. Alpha feedback is coming in, and so far, my concerns have been confirmed in two places, so there’s a bit of reworking I’ll need to do. Which also means: ROC3 is probably NOT going to be a 2025 release too.
It’s about 1/2 way done, but will have to be put off to the side when those last alpha responses come back, and developmental is something I’m prepping to be a beast given how much is happening in Unraveling, and that there are six main POVs and two sort of “interlude” POVs.
And a LOT of feelings. Which, I’m not good at talking about, let alone writing about.
Regardless, I’m still super excited for this one. It’s got what everyone has loved so far in Daughters, with some new twists, some action, and some “Oh no!”
Onwards!
